What We Learned About

We learned about balancing in Science.  And we cut out cardboard when we were done with our sheet about stable positions.  For chapter book we are reading Dear Mr. Henshaw.  The boy in the story, Leigh, was mad at Mr. Henshaw because he didn't like his words.

What We Did Today

Today we learned to add three-addend problems, like 41+32+18.  And we did P.E. today.

A Very Good Day

Today we played on new iPads.  Everyone had fun on them.  In Science we taped popsicle sticks to our desks and tried to balance two shapes.  To make it easier, we took two clothes pins and put them on the shapes.  In Reading we are learning about a story called Officer Buckle and Gloria.  Officer Buckle told people safety rules.  So we made our own safety rules and made a picture. 

Learning About Balance

In Science we balanced a paper crayfish on our fingers.  We used clothes pins to help.  We wrote about it in our Learning Logs.  In Math we did regrouping.  In Guidance we had to guess what the people were doing.  We had Writer's Workshop time.

The 102nd Day of School

We learned how to balance tops.  We learned how to add two digit numbers.  We learned how to do the word study stuff on our Think-tac-toe papers.  Mrs. Johnson gave us a Reading test and a Math test.  We are doing Think-tac-toe.  Think-tac-toe is like tic-tac-toe.  We did our MAP test today.  We like to write the blogs.

100th Day of School!

Today is the 100th day of school, and we went to Mrs. Schlickbernd's class.  We ate cookies. Mrs. Schlickbernd's class came to our room for a guessing game.

The 99th Day of School

We finished our mind maps.  Tomorrow we are sharing them.  In Math we tried not to use cubes for regrouping.  Tomorrow is the 100th day of school!  We are going to do a game.  Today we had our MAPS test again.

What We Learned About

We learned about the Government.  They do the laws and they work with the president.  Today we we had to do Destiny's student of the week letters.  We draw pictures and tell her she is nice and good at Math.

A Good Day at School

All week we are learning how to regroup in Math.   We also did our checklist.  Then we did MAP test.  We did something new in Word Study.  It was our Think-tac-toe.  We have to do Buddy Check sometime, and two other things to make a tic-tac-toe.  Kaleigh was Calendar Helper.  We made lists about Martin Luther King, Jr., and made a Wordle about him.

Things We Did Today

We learned about Martin Luther King, Jr. and regrouping.  Today was Martin Luther King day.  We did a poem about him too.  It was our first day using the cubes for Math.  We used the cubes to regroup.  Regrouping means that you can make two numbers into another 10.  Destiny is our student of the week.  We got to go to Mrs. Schlickbernd's room and watch a movie about caves.

Important News

Today we went to read books at the Care Center.  We learned how to use good words to describe a picture.

In Math we did a Math test.  We had computer lab in our room for the second time.  We did sentence surgery in Writing.  We cut the sentences and put them together again so they wouldn't die.

Awesome Day at School

We will be learning about caves in reading groups. January News

Today we watched a movie.  It was a book.  It helped us learn about asking questions while we read.  We liked it.  Today Gabe did calendar.  In Guidance we watched Popcorn Park.  Today in Math we had lots of stuff to do.  We did games, independent work, and small group with Mr. Johnson.  We made stories of our own.  On Tuesday, January 10th we will have a pizza party for winning the door contest.  Today we all read Ralph S. Mouse for our chapter book.
