Winner, by Hadley

Jacob, Brandon, Colton, Lexie and I got done doing work and we played Addition War.  Colton won them all.  Then Cael joined in.  We learned about the word pair.  Everybody was really quiet when we were doing it.  In my reading group I talked about family traditions.  We are reading a book called Ramona the Pest.  In writing we are learning about OREO which means Opinion, Reason, Example, and Opinion.

We have no school on Friday.  Parent-teacher conferences are on Thursday.

I am proud of Cael and Jacob today for being nice to Mahlik when he was sad.

The Things My Friends and I Did at Recess, by Gracyn

Hadley, Lexie, and I played at our club and I was the guard dog.  I kept the other club from stealing our stuff.  At the last recess, the third grade smashed it.  We had to build it all again so didn't have any fun because we had to build our club again.  But we had fun working together.

We are going to check out library books on Thursday instead of Friday.

I am proud of Cael today because he was a good friend to others.

Learned a New Game at Recess, by Colt Lynn

Today I learned a new game at recess.  The game was called Squeeze.  It's really easy to play.  you stand in a circle and hold hands.  Then you spin around.  Then somebody stands in the middle.  Everybody stops, then squeezes the person in the middle.

Parent-teacher conferences are on Thursday.  I am proud of everybody today because they were nice.

We Played Games, by Yamilet

Today we played games with high school friends.  Me and Hadley were doing a puzzle and I broke it.  Hadley was sad.  We did a tower and then we broke it.  We took our class picture today, with Mrs. Schlickbernd's class.  Then we went back to our classroom.  Every boy and girl in the school was wearing maroon.  When we were done with closing circle we went to the pep rally.  We cheered for people.

Parent-teacher conferences are on Thursday.  I am proud of both classes for cheering loud at the pep rally.

We Showed Our Community, by Brandon

Today we showed our Community to the other second grade class.  We showed our community when it was Social Studies.  Lane and Lexie are going to tell about our community.

Tomorrow we are going to wear maroon and white and we are going home at 1:00.  I am proud of Jacob and Cael today because they were helping Eduardo at recess.

The class is working on a community.  We only have 2 more days until we're done with it.  I think we're doing good on our community.

Oreos! by Adela

Today we were in Meet with Teacher.  We were subtracting with cubes.   I wrote about going to Erica's house.  We went to writing.  Today we learned about Oreos.  And we are learning about opinion and fact.  We did word study and we did Guidance.

Thursday is class color day.  We wear green.  Friday is maroon and white day and we dismiss at 1:00.

I am proud of my friend who is my twin with me.

A New Song, by Mahlik

We learned a new song today.  It was fun and it was funny too.  We will do it at the pep rally on Friday.

Tuesday is Sports Day.  I am proud of Cael today because he was being a good friend.

Our Chapter Book, by Cael

We are reading a book.  The characters are Dink, Josh, and Ruth Rose.  The book was awesome!  The name of the book was The Absent Author.  

Monday is dress up day.  It is Hippie Day.  I am proud of Gracyn today for helping a friend out.

Learning to Blog, by Mr. Johnson's class

Today we are blogging for the first time.  We learned how to use the iPod for taking pictures.  Everybody will get a chance to be the blogger.  We hope you love and read our blog.

Homecoming is next week!  I am proud of Hadley and Gracyn for inviting Mahlik to play with them.

King Tut website

This week we finished reading a chapter book about two kids who traveled through time to the Egyptian Pyramids.  We found this website that shared more information about King Tut, and we thought it was pretty cool!
