Today is the last day of school!  We went to the gym and played volleyball and basketball.  It wasn't P.E.  Then we went to our classroom and did calendar.  At 8:30 we ran the Main Street Mile.  It was really fun.  At 10:00 we had an assembly.  In the assembly Mr. Wulf handed out awards and then we watched the teachers do Minute to Win It.  Today was a good day.

Today we started our morning off with the Health Run and it felt shorter than usual. I ran with Kenna.  We talked about the prank.  Mr. Wendte did not mark us off on the chart today that tells how long we ran the Health Run.  Then we came back, got our maroon folders and I took out my writing that I am illustrating.  I have to finish chapter two then I have to do all chapter three.  Then Jack flipped the lights and said he was ready for calendar.  Before he began Mrs. Nixon said on the school speakers that there are six more teachers to be captured and two kids read two more and she said we are going to be finished on time.  This time Jack could start calendar. He pulled sticks. Jack started with calendar in Spanish.  Then he pulled Roxy she said the calendar in English.  After they did calendar in Spanish and English, money, and the hundreds, tens, and ones we worked on our new second grade memories books.  Then we did read aloud.  We are almost done and we think we can make it.  We went to recess.  Makenna and I did not play much.  We tried to find warmth.  We thought we found some but I do not think so.  We came back and went to P.E.  In P.E. we went to the track and we had to run two laps.  Then we got to practice our activities for track and field day which was today.  When P.E. was over instead of doing read aloud we worked on our second grade memories books.  We washed our hands for lunch and Eliseo was the line leader.  Today's lunch was spicy chicken nuggets, rolls, corn, and frozen strawberries.  Then we had last recess because we had to go to track and field day at twelve thirty.  Makenna and I swung.  We we pushed with our feet.  When recess was over we still had a few minutes so we worked on our second grade memories books. Then I worked on the  blog.  By the time it was time to go to track and field day I was on the back of my second page.  Makenna led us because she only had two activities she could do.  We started track and field day at the softball throw.  I signed up for it.  I three far to me and the other people threw far too.  Our next event was soccer kick.  I did not do that but the people that did did great even with the wind.  The next activity I was not in either but they ran fast and jumped hard.  It was the long jump.  We finally got to an activity that I signed up for.  The activity was jump roping.  Everybody did a fantastic job.  We got waters before we ran.  I drank all mine before we started running.  My dad surprised me by coming.  We watched the fifty meter hurdles and the fifty meter dash and I was in neither.  Then it was the hundred meter dash and I was in it at the end.  My foot got stuck in the yarn.  They did the two hundred meter dash which they did a great job.  We left after that but they did do a four hundred meter dash.  But just because I was not there does not mean they did a bad job. We got an ice cream bar, ate it, and Mr. Johnson said the ticket out.  Then we left school for the day.

The field trip is in three days and bring a sack lunch.

Softball practice tonight at six.

Last day of school is this Friday.

Makenna's Blog

We went to the Care Center today.  My books were The Princess and the Pea, I Have a Cold.  I read to lots of different people.  Reggie and I helped Alice do a puzzle.  We walked to the Care Center and back to the school.  We ate lunch in the classroom with Mrs. Schlickbernd's class.  After lunch we had recess.  Mr. Johnson brought his medal from the half marathon for show and tell.  Sunday is Kenna's birthday.  She brought treats. 

Monday is field day.  The 17th is the last day of school.

We did the Health Run.  After the Health Run was done everybody came in the classroom.  Before Gaby turned off the lights Mrs. Sodeberg gave us candy.  After that Gaby turned off the lights.  We did calendar, money, and straws.  After that Roxy said the student helpers.  Mr. Johnson said the schedule.  Then Brianna and me went to Mrs. Gutzman.  When I came back from Mrs. Gutzman's the class was watching video.  The video was about multiplication.  Then it was recess time. Then we went to Music.  Then we did read aloud.  After that we went to lunch.  Then we did language arts block.  Then it was time for recess.  After that we went to the library.  Mrs. Klein read The Gardner to us.  Then we got milk.  Then Eliseo, Makenna, and Kenna shared their published stories.  Then we worked on writing.  I worked on my blog.  Then the time went off.  We went to Mrs. Schlickbernd's room to decorate our Mother's Day card.  We went back to our classroom.  We packed up and Mr. Johnson said the ticket out.  The ticket out was what you are going to do after school.

On Sunday it is Mother's Day.

Next Thursday we are going to Ashfall.

We did a test.  In P.E. we went to the track.  Then another test.  Next we had Critical Thinking.  Today is final Author's Chair.  Me, Ryan, and Jack read our book.  Then we went home.

We did calendar as usual.  We said the date in English and Spanish.  We said the money and straws.  We the the student helpers and Mr. Johnson said the schedule.  Ja'lela was calendar helper.  Ja'lela had to go with Mrs. Manz.  Mr. Johnson was calendar helper.  Then Ja'lela came back and we said the pledge.  Makenna brought a stuffed dog and a stuffed elephant for show and tell.  Eliseo brought a bay blade and Ryan brought a Lego comic book for show and tell.  Then we had recess.  I played with Brianna and Makenna.  We made soup.  Then we came in.  Mr. Johnson read Superfudge by Judy Blume.  Then we washed our hands to go to lunch.  For lunch we had chili cheese fries, wheat roll, romaine lettuce, and apricots.  After lunch we went to recess again.  Brianna, Makenna and I just ran around.  Then we came in.  We did Writing.  I worked on the blog.  Then we read a book together out of our reading book. Then we had recess.  I did the same thing as last recess.  Then we had Guidance.  We went to Mr. Clay's room.  We watched Popcorn Park.  Then we came back to our classroom.  We got a new poem called "The Last Day of School."  We read to 1, 2, or 3 people and then we made pictures on our poem.  Then we did Science.  We learned about energy.  We watched 2 videos.  We did a science song and vocabulary smart cards.  After science we got books for the care center.  The books I got were The Ugly Duckling and When the Leaf Blew In.  Mr. Johnson said the ticket out.  Then we packed up and went.  The ticket out was what is your favorite song from the concert?

The Spring Concert is tonight.  Be here at 6:45 and remember to wear bright colors.
