For Math today Cael did a center with me.  We did number 10.  But I forgot the other center.  For recess, me, Lane, Cael, Brandon, and Hadley played a zombie game.

May 6 is our field trip.  May 10 is our spring concert.  I am proud of Cael today for doing a center with me.

Lexie was calendar helper.  She did a good job.  In Word Study we did the word chunk "ight."  They were kind of easy.

Social Studies and Recess, by Roselin

Today is the last day to finish our Barefoot Island.  We are coloring our Barefoot Island and people are not really done with it.  Today we are doing recess inside and we can use markers.

On May 3rd book orders are due.  On May 6th it is our field trip.  On May 10th it is going to be our spring concert. I am proud of Brandon today because he passed mins 12 and he is a Math Ninja!

Reading and Writing, by Jaden

In reading round 1 I'm working on writing.  Round 2 I met with Mr. Johnson.  Round 3 I did word work.  In writing I did poetry.  We are learning about acrostics.  Mine was fair.  J'Aunna's was the sun.  Hers was great.

May 6 is the Field Trip.  May 10 is the Spring Concert.  I am proud of Lane today because he got started right away in read to self.

Math and Calendar Assignment, by Aleigha

Today we are doing calendar.  It is where there is a kid doing it, and when the timer goes off it means the rest of the kids have to clean up.  The calendar helper is Eduardo.  He did very well.  We are doing Math and my partner is Erica.  We are doing a scavenger hunt and we are looking for objects that are 1 foot, centimeter, and other lengths.  We worked hard to do it ourselves.  Gracyn is a math ninja for the year.  You have to get mixed review addition to be math ninja.  We have 7 math ninjas.

May 3rd we return book orders.  May 6th is our field trip.  May 10th is the concert.

I am proud of everyone today for working hard on math and paying attention to the calendar helper.

Poetry, by Alexia

Today in poetry we did a poem called A Life Cycle of a Butterfly.  It was to the rhythm of Row, Row, Row Your Boat Gently Down the Stream.  The poem was meant to sing but Mr. Johnson said we didn't have to.  I sung to Hadley, Colt Lynn, and Adela.  The funny thing was that when me and Adela sung together Eduardo and Lane went at the exact same time as us!  I was happy because it was pretty quiet during poetry.  I drew a picture of an egg, a caterpillar, a chrysalis, and a butterfly to represent each step in the life cycle of a butterfly.  I like poetry because I like drawing pictures to go with the poems.

On May 6 we have a field trip.  We also have a concert on May 10.

Today we are working on Barefoot Island.  We can make it any way we want.  We have a math ninja boy.  It is Eduardo. He did mixed review and got them all right!
