Gaby's Blog

We ran the Health Run and listened to songs.  In Math we had to find the missing part.  We had recess.  At recess I played with Fatima and Mila.  We had Music.  In Music we sing songs.  Then we came back from Music.  Mr. Johnson read Superfudge by Judy Blume.  Then we had lunch.  For lunch we had chicken nuggets with ketchup, bun with butter, oranges, and carrots.  Then we went to recess.  I played with Mila, Fatima, and Eliseo.  We played tag.  Then we did round 1, 2, and 3.  On round 1 I did word study.  On round 2 I did read to self. On round 3 I did work on writing.  On work on writing I did the blog.  Then we went to recess.  I played with Fatima, Mila and Eliseo.  We played tag.  When recess was over we got milk.  We had Guidance.  We went to Mr. Clay's classroom.  Then we came back from Mr. Clay's classroom.  We had Author's Chair.  Then we worked on our writing.  I worked on the blog for writing.

This Thursday we are going to Ashfall.

Friday, April 26th

In Math we worked together.  We went to recess.  I played on the swings.  Then we went to Music.  In Music we sang.  After that Mr. Johnson read Superfudge.  It is funny.  We went to lunch.  For lunch we had hot ham and cheese.  Then we went to recess.  At recess I played on the swings.  After that we did 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round.  We moved on to recess.  I played with Makenna.  It was fun.  Then we did a quiet choice.  I wrote my blog.  Then we left.

Next Thursday (May 2) is our field trip.

Then we did Math.  In Math we did a story with math problems. Then we had recess.  I played with Brianna.  We had Music.  In Music we colored.  Then we had read  aloud.  We read Superfudge.  We went to lunch.  We had pizza.  Then we had Language Arts Block.  Roxy, Madison, and Caleb did their play.  Then we had recess.  I played with Brianna.  Then we had Library.  We read  book in Library. 
 
Next Thursday is our field trip.  Our permission slips are due tomorrow.

Puppet Show

Roxy, Madison, and Caleb's reading group wrote a puppet show retelling Abby Takes a Stand, by Patricia McKissack.  The three of them wrote the script, made the puppets, and drew the background scenes.  Turn the volume way up to hear it!

We did our morning jobs.  Roxy was calendar helper today.  We did the date in Spanish and English.  Makenna did the date in Spanish and Eliseo did the date in English.  After we did the date we did the ones, tens, and hundreds.  After we did that we did money.  Then we did student helpers and lunch.  Then we did schedule.  After that we did show and tell.  In show and tell Roxy went first.  She showed us her Xray when she went to the doctor.  I don't know what they other people shared because I had to go to Mrs. Gutzman.  At Mrs. Gutzman I had to tell time.  After I went to Mrs. Gutzman I went back to my room.  When I came back they were having a test.  When the timer went off we went to recess.  At recess I played with Brianna, Kenna, and Makenna.  We played a game that we have to save somebody from a shark. Then the bell rang.  Then we did our rotations.  First I did read with someone with Makenna.  Then on second round I went with Mrs. Sateren.  There I worked on a poster with Ryan and Isaiah.  Then the timer went off.  Then I did Word Study.  For Word Study I did stair step writing.  After the time went off it was time for recess.  Instead of playing with Makenna and Brianna, me and Kenna played a game.  Kenna was the baby and I was the mom.  After recess we went to Mrs. Gutzman.  At Mrs. Gutzman's we worked on lever and I don't remember what the other word was.  After we went to Mrs. Gutzman's we went to get milk and snack.  Today's snack was oranges.  Then we did a little bit of writing.  I worked on my blog.  After that we did Science.  In Science we worked on air and water.  Then we did our last round.  I did work on writing.  Then the timer went off.  We packed up and went home.  The End

Busy Day

We started our day off with a little exercise to wake us up.  We walked to the classroom and I turned in my permission slip to got to Ashfall Fossil Beds.  We made our plans.  I didn't get to put anything on my first round because Mila, Alex, and I got to go with Mr. Johnson for our group time.  Gaby was our calendar helper and when she flipped the light she made her plans while we went to get ready for Gaby to start calendar.  We listened to Makenna, Ryan, and Eliseo share their sharing.  After sharing Mr. Johnson shared some word wall words and Ja'lela put the words on the Word Wall.  We did Math.  In Math we learned about greater than and less than.  My first math round I had to fix some stuff on my last math sheet and my new math worksheet.  Then Roxy and I played a math game.  then I met with Mr. Johnson for Math time.  We went to first recess.  I played with Mila and Gaby.  Today we had Music and practiced our moves and songs.  When we came back Mr. Johnson read our new book that we started last week, Superfudge, by Judy Blume.  We are on chapter four.  We washed our hands for lunch and the line leader checked us to make sure we were ready to go.  Today's lunch was creamed chicken on a biscuit, peas, radishes, and grapes.  It was delicious.  When the preschoolers got to the lunchroom we dumped our trays and got ready for second recess.  Outside I played tag with Eliseo, Ryan, Gaby, and Fatima.  I think it was one of the funniest recesses yet.  When we came back we did first round.  I was with Mr. Johnson, Mila, and Alex. My second round was really fun.  I read with Ja'lela.  We read Arthur books.  Finally, third round I was going to do word study but instead I did Journal.  I am pretty sure I wrote a lot.  Then we had our last recess of the day.  I played tag again with Ryan, Gaby, Eliseo, Fatima, and Ja'lela because we did not have any snow gear.  We got our snack.  It was apples.  I got an apple and no milk.  When we got to the classroom Mr. Clay came and took us to his room.  We got to sit in high school chairs.  It was cool.  In Mr. Clay's room we watched Popcorn Park, Kids Who Care.  Next Tuesday we are going to start act three.  When we got back we did Writer's Workshop.  We started with Mr. Johnson, who taught us about endings.  Then I worked on the blog.  After Writer's Workshop we did Science.  Mr. Johnson taught us about compress and air pressure.  We used syringes and tubes again.  We had last round.  Today I had to think for the blog.  But I got done.  After that Mr. Johnson said the ticket out and dismissed us.  I went home and did some facts.

On Thursday we just had three rounds instead of four. We went to Library.  I picked out two books. We got out of school early.

Things We Did

We did Talking Time.  I shared that I helped my mom bake cookies.  In Math we learned greater than and less than.  We had recess inside.  We ate lunch.  It was chicken fried steak.  We had free writing time.  In Science we used syringes and tubes.  The ticket out was what you learned in Science.  Then we went home.

Next Thursday is our field trip.

We went to P.E.  In P.E. we played hockey.  It was a game of hockey.  Everybody was sweaty.  Then we did read aloud.  Mr. Johnson read Superfudge by Judy Blume.  Then we went to lunch.  For lunch we had turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, a wheat roll, and cherries.  Then we went to recess.  I made a snow fort with Makenna.  Kolton and Caleb helped make the snow fort.  Andrea and Fatima are making a snow fort too.  Then we came in and we did Round 1, 2, and 3.  For round 1 I read with Gaby.  For round 2 I did Word Study and round 3 I met with Mr. Johnson.  Then we had Buddy Test.  My partner was Walker.  Then we went to recess.  Caleb made snowballs for everybody.  Then the bell rang.  It was time to go line up and go inside, and go to Art.  In Art we finished our pirate ships.  What we finished was coloring and we water colored the sky.  We did a sun set for the sky.  Then on our way to the classroom we got milk.  Our snack was in our room.  The snack was baby carrots with ranch.  We had Author's Chair.  Thursday people did Author's Chair first because we did not have time yesterday and Friday people shared too.  Then we checked off our folders and then it was time to go.

Today in Math on our math page we used hundreds, tens, and ones.  Then we had recess.  At recess I helped Gannon and Bradley with their super ship.  After recess we went to P.E.  In P.E. we were going to play a hockey game but we didn't.  Then we had lunch.  For lunch we had chicken noodle soup.  In Science we watched a video.

A Good Day; Roxy's Post from Monday

We did Math.  In Math we learned more about the words probable, certain, and impossible.  Then we had P.E.  In P.E. we played volleyball and soccer.  We had a delicious lunch.  We had recess after lunch, it was a blast!  We had Writer's Workshop.  I shared my chapter book that I wrote for Author's Chair.  Then we had Science.  In Science we worked on our projects to share what we learned in a chapter of our Science book.  My group worked on a song.  Then we had last round.  I read with Jocelyn.  It was awesome!  Would you like to do the things that we did?  I think you would.  The whole entire day was a blast!  Except for the part when I stepped in mud and then wore two different kinds of shoes!  But that part was actually pretty funny.  Mrs. Gould even laughed.

In Math we did a test.  It was fun.  I had two mistakes.  Then we went to recess.  I played basketball with Matthew and Isaiah.  It was fun.  Then the bell rang.  Then we went to Music.  In Music we sang Fireworks and Raining Sunshine and You are My Sunshine and Here Comes the Sun.  It was fun.  Then we read There's an Owl in the Shower.  It was fun. Then we went to lunch.  Today's lunch was chile cheese fries, and wheat roll and romaine lettuce.  It was good.  When we came back from recess I went to Mrs. Schlickbernd to meet with Mrs. Manz.  We read Buddy, the First Seeing Eye Dog.

This morning we did the Health Run and I ran with Roxy, Madison, and sort of Kenna.  When we came back people were wondering if they forgot their library books but I remembered them.  We did our morning jobs.  Mine was the blog and it is really a day job to me.  When we did calendar Gaby let us chose what we wanted to do instead of telling us.  I thought it was nice of her to do that for us.  We did Math and in Math we did picture graphs.  After we got done with Math we went to recess.  I played with Roxy, Ryan, and Gaby.  We played freeze tag.  We had our rounds.  First round I was with Mr. Johnson.  Then we had the last recess.  I played walk with Roxy, Ryan, and Madison.  We went to Library finally.  We had a party and got popcorn and root beer floats.  Then we said good-bye to Miss Lukow and Miss Montgomery.  Then we packed up.

Fun Day
